The two Directors are appointed by the Members of NISQ, the two Directors are the NISQ Qualifications Director and the NISQ Contracts Director and they exercise reasonable care, skill and diligence by delegating their powers in accordance with the terms of the NISQ articles of association, the published NISQ Rules of Procedure for the Delegation of Powers to the Governing Body and the published NISQ Scheme of Delegation to the NISQ Governing Body who manages the Awarding Body. The two NISQ Directors sit on the Governing Body and under their statutory duties, monitor, test and challenge assumptions and ask for verification of key information if there are any concerns as to its accuracy. They must be satisfied as to the integrity of any information received and as to the company’s controls in respect of the delegated acts, always acting in accordance with their other statutory duties. The Directors complete annually the published Register of Business Interests and the published Appointments and Declaration of Interests Register and declare any conflicts of interest prior to the beginning of any meeting as a statutory item
The NISQ Governing body is a seven-person Executive Body delegated the core governance and management functions of NISQ the Awarding Organisation by the NISQ Directors under the NISQ Scheme of Delegation. The 7 Governors of the NISQ Governing Body are appointed for one year and consists of :-
The non executive Chairperson is appointed by the member of NISQ while the Governors on the NISQ Governing Body are approved by the member of NISQ annually and as well as being responsible for the management of NISQ they are responsible for the governance of NISQ including the three core governance functions of
They recommend the budget annually, monitor standards and other performance indicators, implement compliance, support organisation improvement and uphold the ethos of the Awarding Organisation [Governance Impact Statement]. The CRAC are an Independant Committee of Specialists focused entirely on the qualification standards within the Awarding Organisation and the quality and efficacy of education provided for the learners to achieve these standards within the NISQ Approved Centres. They work independently across the Awarding Organisation visiting the NISQ approved centres which provides them with the crucial ability to make comparisons, form the membership of the approval panel, the appeals panel and the complaints panel. The members are world renown specialist representatives of the qualification sector within the Awarding Organistaion and follow a structured programme of visits where they effectively independently monitor the monitoring. They look in detail at areas such as special needs, learner outcomes, assessments, health and safety and attendance. The opportunity to compare practice adds significance to the conclusions they draw within their agreed areas. Their independent reports are shared with the NISQ Governing Body and if requested the NISQ shareholders. The members of the Challenge, Review and Advisory Committee complete annually the published Register of Business Interests and the published Appointments and declaration of Interests register and declare any conflicts of interest prior to the beginning of any meeting as a statutory item.
