Qualification Objective

The NISQ Level 4 Award in Counter Terrorism is aimed at recognising, developing, and quantifying the competence of individuals who are either employed or volunteering, aspiring to, or currently practicing within the events, hospitality, learning or a crowd environment including supervisors, controllers, and managers.

The NISQ Level 4 Award in Counter Terrorism combines crowd control methodology/tradecraft practice with underpinning theoretical counter terrorism knowledge. The learner will develop this knowledge alongside the understanding and skills needed to create a safe and secure environment while providing crowd solutions that meet national counter terrorism standards.

Target Audience and Progression Opportunities

The NISQ Level 4 Award in Counter Terrorism is aimed at those within or seeking employment (or volunteering) in an environment with crowds and or assemblies. It will enable learners to progress within their careers and to move between sectors, adapting their counter terrorism principles across a range of environments and conditions. It may also provide access to other higher-level qualifications.  Potential users include:

• Public sector security services
• Private sector security companies
• Private sector individuals and or companies within the hospitality and events (venues) sector
• Individuals employed or volunteering across a range of settings, environments, and conditions. (examples: workplaces, clubs, sports venues, learning environment, places of worship)
• Public service leavers, entering, or upskilling for the private security industry.
• Foreign governments requiring new training, re-training, or upskilling of staff.
